GEOFF KABUSH WILL CAMPAIGN ON A LITESPEED IN BEIJING

From: www.maxxis.com

Geoff Kabush will represent Canada at the Olympics. He is currently sitting third after two podiums in Canada in the World Cup series. The five-time Canadian National Champion will make his second trip to the Olympics. He was ninth at the Sydney 2000 games. These spy shots were provided by Maxxis, Geoffs tires sponsor, of the Litespeed Ocoee hardtail he will be competing in Beijing.

We spoke to Litespeed insiders and learned that Geoff will race a stock OcoeeLitespeeds hardtail race bike with a slightly racier geometry. Geoff is well over six feet tall, so it is a small miracle his 3/2.5-alloy, butted-titanium-framed bike weighs less than 9 kg. The Ocoee frame features manipulated tubes all throughout. It has a diamond-shaped top tube and a flared downtube to increase the bottom bracket area. Quad Tech seat, chainstays and tirestays are rectangularly shaped to provide rigidity and not eat into the rear triangles tires and chainring clearances. Geoff spent this racing season dialing in his frame geometry. The Olympic Litespeed is the result of all that effort. We wish Geoff and Maxxis, Litespeed and Maxxis good luck in China.
