JEEP KOM FINAL-AUG 25

JEEP KOM FINAL?AUG 25,

JEEPKOM FINAL

DUAL TO MOUNTAIN COUNTRY

Innagural Jeep MTB KOM for skiers is a takeoff of the King of the Mountain Series. The MTB version follows the same Y layout as our powder brethren. The two courses have separate dual slalom lanes for each pair of riders. After the course is completed, the racers will play a game with chicken while the lanes merge into one.

Jeep also uses a progressive format. The format works as follows: Winners of each course run two times to advance to the finals. The head start time for the leader in the second run is determined by the time difference between racers. The event is won by the winner of the second match.

Eight teams, each consisting of one man or one woman, were invited to compete.

WHAT WAS AT STAKES

Frances Cedric Gracia, Sabrina Jonnier and Sabrina Jonnier won all the prizes at the Wintergreen race. They also received individual and team golds and the right wear the leaders’ jerseys. Each earned the wins for men and women, as well as the share of the prize money for the team victory. Jonnier won at Telluride again, while Gracia finished in seventh. The French team managed to win the Telluride final with a solid enough result to allow them to wear the Paul Mitchell Leader Jerseys.

AUSTRALIA SUGGESTS

At Kirkwood, the Aussies showed their best. Team One Australia’s Wade Bootes (Australia) and Katrina Miller (Australia) won the best team of day medals. Due to double points at the final, the first and second places of the teams gave them enough points for Team Frances Gracia (and Jonnier) to tie in the overall standings. The tie-breaker was decided by Australia, who won the previous event. Bootes, Miller and Infinity sound systems went home with the Paul Mitchell bonus.

Wade’s win was what propelled Australia to the top. However, Tracy Moseley from Great Britain won the Kirkwood individual womens division. Bootes and Moseley received expensive guitars from Fender Musical Instruments as an extra bonus for winning Kirkwood. It will be a wonderful week for Moseleys, Millers, and Bootes neighbors, who will have new sound systems and guitars.

Jonnier and Gracia finished third, but Sabrina took the top individual points, which earned her a Jeep Wrangler. Team Holland Bas de Bevers placed fifth after Telluride and was second at Kirkwood. He also takes a new Wrangler home.
